Citizens Bank’s Kevin Decker earns CFP

FLINT — Citizens Bank Wealth Management announced that Kevin Decker, portfolio manager at Citizens Bank Wealth Management, has achieved the professional designation of Certified Financial Planner.

To become a CFP, applicants must complete an education consisting of more than 100 financial planning topics, pass a ten hour cumulative exam, and have three years of full time professional experience in a financial planning field.

Steve Schiestel, Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Citizens Bank Wealth Management, said, “The CFP is one of the most respected and recognized designations in the industry and demonstrates Kevin’s dedication to serving our clients.”

Decker joined Citizens Bank Wealth Management in 2011 as Portfolio Manager, and is responsible for managing the investment portfolios of a variety of personal trusts as well as assisting 401(k) participants in understanding their investment allocations options. Prior to joining Citizens, he worked as a portfolio administrator at Rachor Investment Advisory Services, LLC in Flint. — G.G.

King Par to hold benefit for Whaley Center

FLUSHING — King Par LLC has announced the 2nd annual King Par Classic for the benefit of Whaley Children’s Center. The event will be held on June 25, at Warwick Hills Country Club in Grand Blanc.

This exceptional golf venue was the site of the PGA Tour Buick Open for 50 years. Now, many in the community will experience this pristine course while benefiting the worthy cause of Whaley Children’s Center.

This year’s event will differ from last year’s event in that there will be two separate tee times held on the same day. There will be a four person scramble in the morning with breakfast and lunch provided and awards going to the top men’s, women’s and mixed teams, and then an afternoon Pro/Am with lunch and a dinner featuring Celebrity Guest Host Mickey Redmond.

King Par is continuing to accept donations and corporate sponsorships, with levels ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 for major sponsorships and $300 for hole sponsorships. Major sponsors currently include Patsy Lou Williamson, Colston Financial, Orion Energy Systems, and King Par LLC.

Registration is currently open while spots last. The entry fee is $300 per player for the morning scramble, and $450 per play for the afternoon Pro/Am Event.
