In brief

Reunion with a Cause rescheduled for Sept. 23

GRAND BLANC — Reunion with a Cause, an annual fundraising event for Genesys cancer patients, has been rescheduled. The new date and time is: Sept. 23 from 4-8 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church, 15010 N. Holly Rd. in Holly (the churches are next door to each other).

Festivities include: a cancer survivors’ celebration, entertainment, kids’ games, auctions, raffles and a luminary ceremony in memory of those who lost their fight against cancer.

Genesys, in partnership with the Holly community, sponsors this event outdoors every year at the Holly High School track. The original event in August was canceled because of extreme weather conditions.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from Reunion with a Cause go to help Genesys cancer patients with special financial needs. Last year’s Reunion was another recordbreaking year with proceeds totaling about $85,000.
