Hurley welcomes new adolescent specialist
FLINT — Hurley Medical Center announces the addition of a new Adolescent Medicine Specialist Dr. Anju Sawni. Sawni received her Doctor of Medicine Degree from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Montserrat, West Indies. Sawni completed a Pediatric Internship and Pediatric Residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. Dr. Sawni completed an Adolescent Medicine Fellowship at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York.
“Adolescent Patients cared for at Hurley receive an exceptional clinical experience and the finest in patient and family centered care. I look forward to caring for adolescent patients who are in need of this vital specialty, and working together to positively impact the lives of our patients in the greater Genesee County area and beyond,” said Sawni.
Sawni is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Division of Adolescent Medicine in Detroit, and Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit.

Dentist offers to buy back Halloween candy
DAVISON — For the fifth straight year, Dr. Kip Litton, 1095 S. State Rd., will give $1 per pound up to 5 pounds to purchase back Halloween candy from local children. Litton’s office will accept candy through Nov. 6. Everyone who brings candy in will receive one entry into a drawing for a Oral B electric toothbrush valued at more than $75. Chamber, ELGA to take part in fashion show
BURTON — The Burton Chamber of Commerce and ELGA Credit Union will be showcasing Goodwill Industries of Mid- Michigan by hosting a interactive fashion show at their monthly networking meeting, Nov.14 at 7:30 a.m. The event will be held at ELGA’s Administration building located at 2305 S. Center Rd. Burton
