Fundraiser scheduled for Lydia Clor

GRAND BLANC — Lydia Clor, 7, a student at Cook Elementary who received a severe traumatic brain injury due to a boating accident, has recently come home after spending many weeks at Hurley Medical Center and C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor. She will continue her outpatient rehabilitation at U of M Milestones, a pediatric Neuro Rehabilitation program.

A Pasta Dinner/Bake Sale and Silent Auction is being held Nov. 17 from 5-7 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Rd., Grand Blanc. Tickets are $7 per person and are being sold now at the church and at the door.

Some of the auction items include: Piston’s tickets, Nutcracker tickets at the Whiting, 4 suite tickets at the Fox Theatre with dinner to see “Christmas with the Rat Pack”, and many baskets.— P.B.

Kidney group to meet

FLINT — The Kidney Cancer Educational Support Group will meet Nov. 14 at Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute, 302 Kensington.

The featured speaker is Darlene Brown, MS,MD, treatment option specialist, Fresenius Medical Care.

Faurecia Automotive tour available to HS students

FLINT — Faurecia, the world’s sixth largest automotive supplier renowned for its innovation, and nationally ranked Kettering University, are co-hosting a very special program for high school students interested in science and engineering called Co-op Close-Up.

Co-op Close-up gives students the opportunity to learn what cooperative education is all about. The event is free on Nov. 12, from 6 -8 p.m. at the Faurecia Interior Systems Technical Center, 2500 Executive Hills Dr. in Auburn Hills.
