Mall presents Breakfast with Santa

FLINT TWP. — Families are invited to join Santa for breakfast at Genesee Valley Center. It will be held in the upper-level Food Court at Genesee Valley Center at 8 a.m. , Dec. 15. After breakfast, children can visit with Santa and receive a special gift, while supplies last. Reservations are required; please call 810-732-4000. Breakfast is available for purchase from select Food Court restaurants.

Santa also is available for photos Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and on Sunday from noon-5 p.m. through Dec. 23. On Christmas Eve, photos with Santa can be taken from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.. Each child that visits with Santa receives a special gift.

Discount coupons offered in mall retailer’s food drive

FLINT TWP. — Maurices, a women’s apparel store at Genesee Valley Center mall, is conducting a food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.

“While we participate in a number of Mauricessponsored benefits throughout the year, we are especially proud when we have the opportunity to support causes right here at home,” said Store Manager Joelle Hornbeck.

The drive began Dec. 8 and will end Dec. 19. Collection hours are Friday 9 a.m.-10 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14, 8 a.m.-10 p.m., Dec. 15 , 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Dec. 16 and 9 a.m.-10 p.m., Dec. 17-19. For each donation of a non-perishable food item, Maurices will give a coupon for 20 percent off any one regular priced store item. Maurices offers clothing and accessories for fashion-savvy young women in sizes 1 to 24.

“This drive is just one way we can express how grateful we are to be a part of this community,” said Hornbeck. “We invite customers to be part of this effort and look forward to giving them a special deal on an item from Maurices in return.” — R.S.

Michigan author to sign books at mall bookstore

FLINT TWP.— Teresa K. Irish of Northville, author of “ A Thousand Letters Home,” will make a guest book-signing appearance at Barnes & Noble bookstore at Genesee Valley Center from 5-8 p.m. Dec. 14 Her book is an account of a W.W.II soldier’s letters home about war, love and life. Annual Boy Scout Troop 106 Christmas Tree Sale

GRAND BLANC — Boy Scout Troop 106 is selling Christmas trees at the corner of Grand Blvd. and Church Street in downtown Grand Blanc each Saturday and Sunday until Christmas. Hours are 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. A variety of fresh cut, high-quality trees such as Frasier Fir, Blue Spruce, White and Scout Pine are available. Prices start at $20 and tree sizes vary from 5 to 12 feet. Proceeds are used to support Troop 106 scouting activities and program expenses, camping trips and replacement equipment. The troop meets 7:30 p.m. Mondays at Kirkridge Presbyterian Church, Grand Blanc. — P.B.
