Flint Area Unity Council holding AA classes

Holiday Trains opened at the Sloan Museum

FLINT — Get in the holiday spirit at Sloan Museum with its newest exhibit Holiday Trains. Intended for train enthusiasts of all ages, this HO Scale model railroad showcases model trains and features realistic diesel sounds.

Visitors will be taken back to the days when the Iron Horse sped across Michigan. Marvel at charming model trains as they travel across rustic bridges, along overhead trestles, and even past a zoo. Search over the three tracks for the White Christmas Express.

Holiday Trains is open to the public through Jan. 27. Sloan Museum is located at 1221 E. Kearsley Street, Flint, Michigan, 48503 Tickets are $9 adults, $8 Seniors, and $6 youth ages 3- 11. — G.G.

Whaley House open for tours

Teenquest offering training sessions

GRAND BLANC — Teenquest will be offering pre-employability leadership training sessions at several different locations during the school year to students who are currently 14-18 years old and in grades 9-11.

Students who participate in this summer training will be eligible to attend the SYI Job Fair in May 2013. Session 3: Jan. 14-Feb. 14, Session 4: Feb. 25-March 28 (a session will be held at Grand Blanc High School).
