New Great Clips Salon opening soon

FLINT TWP. — The Great Clips Salon at 4455 Corunna Road, will be getting a sister store next month, under the same ownership.

The Corunna Road store opened last year and established a relationship with Carmen- Ainsworth Schools, Toys for Tots and other fundraiser events. The new salon will be located at 238 West Main in the Bueche Plaza in Flushing.

Hiring is underway for all level of staff positions including manager, assistant manager and stylists – eight to 10 positions total. To set up an interview, visit the Corunna Road store or call 810-230-1818.

Those hired will have a choice of working at the Corunna Road location or the new Flushing location, which is expected to open early next month.

C-A elementaries hosting special dance

FLINT TWP. — Tickets are on sale for the sixth annual Daddy/Daughter Mother/Son Dance for Carman-Ainsworth elementary school students.

Sponsored by Da Peeps robotics club, the dances will be held on two nights at Rankin Elementary School, 3459 Mundy Avenue in Mundy Township.

The dance for Dye and Randels elementary students and guests will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8. The dance for Dillon and Rankin students and guests will take place from 6-8 p.m on Saturday, Feb. 9.

Tickets are $20 per couple and $3 for each additional child. They can be purchased at the respective school office.

Photos and refreshments will be available at the dance. Photos by Hot Shots Photography will be developed on site and available for pickup at the dance. — R.S.

Graduation fundraiser

FLINT TWP. — The Carman-Ainsworth High School Post Graduation Planning Committee is hosting a fundraiser from 4-8 p.m. on Monday Feb. 4 at the Linden Road McDonalds. A portion of each purchase will be donated to the annual event which provides a post-graduation party for seniors in a safe environment. — R.S.

Ortonville non-profit holding silent auction

GRAND BLANC — A3Hunger, an Ortonville non-profit; that’s mission is to feed the hungry within our community and abroad, is proud to announce that we will be hosting our first “Empty Bowls” Soup and Silent Auction, Feb. 22 from 6-8 p.m. This event will be hosted at the Grand Blanc Middle School East, 6601 Perry St. Grand Blanc.

Beautifully hand-crafted, pottery bowls are being donated for the silent auction by the Grand Blanc Middle School East Art Students. There will also be a few select pieces of collectible, sports memorabilia and fine art prints up for auction as well.
