In brief

SBA Small Business Lending & Exporting forum

FLINT — The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering a Small Business Lending & Exporting Forum at Kettering University in Flint on March 28, 1-4 p.m.

Designed for any small business that needs financing or wants to begin or grow in exporting, this forum will provide an overview of SBA programs; it will focus on SBA loan guaranty programs; and will provide information on resources for starting or expanding exporting.

In addition, a commercial lender will offer insight into how to prepare to meet with a lender, what to expect in that meeting, and the lending criteria used by loan officers to evaluate a loan request.

This forum is best suited to those who have good credit history, money to invest in their business and a solid business idea and/or plan to grow.

Open Q&A will follow the roundtable presentations. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to network and meet one-on-one with several regional lender representatives as well as entrepreneurial services resource providers such as VetBiz Central, Procurement and Technical Assistance Center, Mott Community College’s FabLab, and more.

“What’s unique about the roundtable is the direct, personal access to the SBA, and small business lenders and assistance providers” said Marsha Lyttle, MI-SBTDC regional director.

There is no fee to attend but advance registration is required. Online registration is available at: workshop. aspx? ekey= 60330033. Details: Call 810-762-9660. — G.G.
