Free workshop on ‘Writing a Business Plan’

FLINT — “Writing a Business Plan” workshop is being presented by the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center (MI-SBTDC) I-69 Trade Corridor regional office at Kettering University in Flint, April 30, 5:30- 8:30 p.m.

For early stage or startup businesses, the pre-requisite to this course is attending the “Starting a Business” workshop. After attending “Starting a Business” it generally takes 4-6 weeks to complete the preparation needed to be ready for the “Writing a Business Plan” workshop.

These and other “Venture Start” workshops are offered at multiple locations and dates around the region and the state.

The business plan workshop covers the specifics of business planning including market research, marketing, finance, legal, operations, and management. Tools, steps, and a workbook for creating a business plan draft are included.

Due to community sponsorship, there is no fee for this workshop or any of the Venture Start workshops offered by MI-SBTDC I-69 Trade Corridor regional office. Genesee County exhibitors featured at women’s show

NOVI — C & L Ward of Davison; Elegance eT Cetera and Midwest Pools of Grand Blanc; and Fireside Coffee Company of Swartz Creek are featured exhibitors at the Michigan International Women’s Show, May 2-5, Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.

The 18th annual Michigan International Women’s Show is presented by The Detroit News and sponsored by Kroger, Chevrolet, The Balancing Act, Farmers Insurance and United Dairy Industry of Michigan. Suburban Collection Showplace is located at 46100 Grand River Ave. between Novi and Beck Road in Novi.

Show hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday; 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10; youth 6-12 are $5 and children 5 and under are admitted free with a paying adult.

Advance tickets are $8 online. Discount tickets are available at Kroger for $7. Group tickets for 4 or more are offered in advance online for $8. Happy Hours are everyday after 5 p.m. with $5 admission, free gifts, discounts and special demonstrations. On site parking is available for $5.
