Genesee Valley Center to Host Online Sweepstakes

FLINT TWP. —Father’s Day and graduations are coming up and Genesee Valley Center wants to help you celebrate with a contest two $275 prize packages. Enter by visiting the mall’s Facebook page (facebook.com/GeneseeValleyCenter) May 22- June 6.

St. George church offers Mid-East Bake Sale May 30

FLINT TWP. — St. George Orthodox Church, 5191 Lennon Rd., will hold a Middle Eastern Luncheon and Bake Sale from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on May 30.

Admission is $10 per person. The menu includes kibbee, green bean stew and rice, hummus, pita bread, dessert, coffee and iced tea. Takeouts will be available and free delivery provided for orders of eight or more.

Get rid of hazardous waste this weekend

GENESEE COUNTY — The free public Genesee County Hazardous Waste Collection Day will take place from 10 a.m-2 p.m. on May 18, sponsored by the Household Hazardous Waste Consortium of Genesee County.

Drop off sties are at Grand Blanc High School, 12500 Holly Road, and the Flint East Waste Service Center, 3310 E. Court St.

Road lighting inspections will impact traffic

GENESEE COUNTY — Freeway lighting inspections began on May 13 and will continue until mid-July, MDOT has announced. Inspections will include both directions of

I-69 and I-475 in Genesee County and I-675 and the i-75 Zilwaukee Bridge in Saginaw County. Shoulder and ramp closures will be necessary to allow inspectors to work safely. They will be announced as scheduled. — R. S.
