Genesee County Literacy Coalition’s rummage sale

DAVISON TWP. — The Genesee County Literacy Coalition will hold a huge rummage sale at, 7382 E. Potter Rd., in Davison, just west of Irish Road.

The 2013 sale times: June 27-29: 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and June 30 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Free access day at the Flint Children’s Museum

FLINT — Admission to the Flint Children’s Museum is free June 15 thanks to a sponsorship from the Michigan Virtual Charter Academy (MVCA) and Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy (MGLVA). From 10 a.m.-5 p.m. parents and children get free access to the Museum’s main exhibits and special programming.

Children can learn about where the spots on the moon come from, what they might look like in a spacesuit, and how to find animals among the stars. Additional programming will include face painting, bubble play, and erupting science experiments.

Parents can learn about MVCA and MGLVA, the nation’s largest provider for online education programs. MVCA and MGLVA are available in Michigan to students in grades K-12, and offer award winning programs.

Baker enrolling for summer and fall quarters

FLINT — Baker College of Flint is enrolling students for summer and fall 2013 quarters, with summer classes beginning June 24 and fall classes beginning Sept. 30. Registration is ongoing through the start of classes.

Free food distribution

FLINT — There will be free food distribution in cooperation with the Eastern Michigan Food Bank at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 6434 Richfield Rd., in cooperation with the Eastern Food Bank, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. or until the food is gone.
