Resource Genesee has new location

FLINT — Resource Genesee is moving June 28 to a new location, according to Lindsey Younger, President and CEO of the non-profit organization. The move will allow all of Resource Genesee’s programs to be under one roof.

Resource Genesee’s new address is 605 N. Saginaw St., Suite 2, which is in the GCCARD building on the corner of University Drive and North Saginaw Street. There will be space for all Resource Genesee staff members from 2-1- 1, Information and Referral, Volunteer Services, ReMix, Leadership Genesee, One Stop Resource Center, and Homeless Outreach.

Resource Genesee has long been housed in the American Red Cross building in downtown Flint and its One Stop Housing Resource Center and ReMix program were located in the Carriage Factory on Water St., north of the Flint River in downtown.

Resource Genesee offices will be closed July 1-5 to accommodate the move and the July 4 holiday. The office will be open and all programs and services will be ready to serve clients on Monday, July 8, 2013.

Resource Genesee is the volunteer center for Genesee County, runs an adult leadership program called Leadership Genesee, and an Information & Referral hotline which residents call to connect with a wide variety of social services. Additionally, area residents can dial 2-1-1 for a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week help hotline.— G.G.
