GISD implements summer four-day work week
GENESEE COUNTY — The Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) has once again implemented a four-day work week during the summer. This initiative is part of a continuing effort to substantially reduce energy costs for the district.
The regular five-day work week will be compressed into a four- day work week to achieve these savings.
Effective now, all GISD facilities will be closed on Fridays. The district’s summer business hours will be: Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. -5 p.m.
The four-day summer schedule will end Aug. 9. The district will resume its regular schedule, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning Aug. 12.
GISD is committed to serving the needs of its constituents and the four-day work week will not result in any reduction of services. Even though district facilities will be closed for business on Fridays, any need for critical services, requiring specific staff to work modified schedules, will be provided. — G.G.
