Disney Institute is back with ‘Disney’s Approach to Creativity & Innovation’

FLINT — There is still time to register for Disney Institute’s “Disney’s Approach to Creativity & Innovation,” a one-day workshop hosted by the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, Sept. 25, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Gateway Centre, 5353 Gateway Centre, Flint.

Cost is $300 for Flint & Genesee Chamber members and $399 for non-members.

This immersive benchmarking experience will engage participants in the time-tested best practices, sound methodologies, and real-life business lessons that sustained the global success of Disney for over 85 years. The result? Relevant tools and actionable strategies that can be adapted to achieve your company’s transformation goals.

Workshop topics include fostering a collaborative culture, defining an organizational identity, establishing structural systems and understanding the leader’s role.

Nominations sought for Sybyl award

GENESEE COUNTY — Do you know an outstanding community volunteer? Would you like to see them recognized for their outstanding service?

Resource Genesee has announced nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 Sybyl Award. The award was created in 2008 to honor the life of Sybyl M. Atwood.

Atwood served as Program Director for Volunteer and Information Services at Resource Genesee and its predecessor organizations for more than 40 years.

The award recipient will be announced at Resource Genesee’s Annual Holiday Luncheon to be held Dec. 5.

IMA Winter Bridal Show looking for vendors

BURTON — The IMA’s Winter Bridal Show will unveil many of these hot new trends with the area’s top wedding professionals on Jan. 4 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at IMA Brookwood Banquet Center, 6045 Davison Rd.

Brides and their friends and family can experience a great selection of merchants available for their special day including Photographers, DJ’s, Photo Booths, Uplighting, Wedding Gowns, Men’s Formalwear, Decorators, Wedding Cakes, Dry Cleaning/Wedding Gown Preservationist, Event Planners, Linen, Chair Covers and more.
