A night dedicated to Michigan beer, wine, food

FLINT — Country Smoke House and Townsquare Media are proud to present the 2nd Annual Michigan Food, Beer, and Wine Fest on Nov. 9, 3-9 p.m., Perani Arena in Flint.

The event will feature more than 100 various Michigan beers and wines. There will also be premiere area food vendors along with seminars and demonstrations, a free photo booth, strolling magician, even live music in an indoor park like setting complete with real grass and Giant Jenga, thanks to The Kristy Cantleberry Team Re/Max Grande in Grand Blanc.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door and include a commemorative glass as well as five beer or wine sample tickets. Tickets are available for purchase at Country Smoke House in Almont, Will’s Winery in Lapeer, Whigville Market in Grand Blanc, Townsquare Media Flint Studios, or online at mifoodbeerwine.com. — G.G.

Salvation Army accepting applications for help

FLINT — The Salvation Army will be taking applications for Christmas assistance from Oct. 30-Nov. 1, from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for Genesee County residents.

Those in need of help with toys, food, and clothing for the holiday season will have the option of two locations to apply again this year.

The Salvation Army at 211 W. Kearsley Street in downtown Flint and The Salvation Army Beecher Corps located at 1475 W. Coldwater Road. No appointment needed.

The Salvation Army’s Christmas assistance program is intended to help those who would otherwise be unable to celebrate Christmas.

IMA Winter Bridal Show looking for vendors

BURTON — The IMA’s Winter Bridal Show will unveil many of these hot new trends with the area’s top wedding professionals on Jan. 4 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at IMA Brookwood Banquet Center, 6045 Davison Rd.

Brides and their friends and family can experience a great selection of merchants available for their special day including Photographers, DJ’s, Photo Booths, Uplighting, Wedding Gowns, Men’s Formalwear, Decorators, Wedding Cakes, Dry Cleaning/Wedding Gown Preservationist, Event Planners, Linen, Chair Covers and more.

The show will feature a “Bridal Salon” sponsored by Expressions In Silk Bridal where brides can actually try on gowns and talk to wedding gown specialist in a separate salon area.

2014 vendors already registered include Black Tie Productions, Brady Events, Cherished Celebrations, David’s Bridal, Expressions from the Heart Florist, Expressions in Silk Bridal, Five Star Entertainment, Fun With Frosting, IMA Brookwood Golf & Banquet Center, Jan’s Professional Dry Cleaners, President Tuxedo, Royal Linen Service, Special Occasions, and Tasty Layers Custom Cakes.
