Matonich reappointed to Michigan NRC

FLINT — John Matonich, PS, Chairman and CEO of ROWE Professional Services Company, has been reappointed by Governor Rick Snyder to the Michigan Natural Resources Commission (NRC).

A native of the Upper Peninsula, Matonich is a longtime advocate of the wise use of natural resources and enjoys many outdoor recreational activities, including hunting, fishing, and trail riding with both snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles.

“I am honored to have been reappointed by Governor Snyder to be a member of the NRC,” Matonich said. “Michigan’s Natural Resources Commission has an important role to play in the use of our state’s natural resources, which are truly Michigan’s crown jewels. I hope to continue to be a positive contributor to the diverse issues facing our natural resources.”

Matonich’s term will expire December 31, 2017.

“Starting a Business” class in Flint and Lapeer

FLINT — If you’ve been thinking about starting a business or are in the early stages of starting, the Michigan Small Business Development Center offers a “Starting a Business” class with a comprehensive overview of what it takes to evaluate market and sales potential for products/ services, start-up costs, financing options, and business planning along with necessary steps to getting started.

The free seminar is presented monthly in Flint and Lapeer. The February schedule includes Feb. 13, 5:30-8 p.m. in Flint and Monday, Feb. 17, 9-11:30 a.m. at Mott Community College in Lapeer.

There is no fee for the seminar but advance and separate registration for each individual is required.
