Robotics Kickstarter Campaign ends this week

FLINT TWP. — As of late Tuesday, a Kickstarter fundraising campaign to the support the Carman-Ainsworth High School robotics team has surpassed its $2,800 pledge goal with 42 backers contributing amounts from $5 to $500. Just a week earlier, the team had only raised about $636 of the funds needed to help FRC Team 314 Big Mo achieve its goal to design, build and program a robot to compete in the FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC). It was an all or nothing campaign that would not be funded if the $2,800 goal had not been met.. But donations still are being accepted until midnight Friday, Feb. 28 at carman-ainsworth-hs-first-robotics-bigmo 2014-sea.

Working under tight constraints, the team has qualified for the State Championship the last 2 years and the World Championship last year, said Ellen M. Crain, CAHS Robotics Advisor. — R.S.
