FLINT TWP. — Four township officials will be the guest speakers at the West Flint Business Association meeting from noon to 1:15 Wed., March 19 at Valley Coney Island at Miller and Linden roads. The meeting is open to non-members. Scheduled to speak are township Supervisor Karyn Miller, Fire Chief John Ringwelski, Police Chief George Sippert and Economic Enhancement Director Tracey Tucker. — R.S.
Catholic Charities Is Ready For St. Patrick’s Day
GENESEE COUNTY — Catholic Charities is inviting the public to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with their St. Patrick’s Day Box Lunch Sale, March 17.
This annual fundraiser is a Flint tradition, offering a delicious boxed lunch that includes a sandwich, stacked high with corned beef and Swiss on rye, chips, coleslaw, pickle and a treat — all for only $6. A drive-thru pick up will be open 10 a.m. — 1 p.m., in front of Catholic Charities’ main office at 901 Chippewa St., next to St. Michael Parish in Flint.

Annual Polar Bear Open Putt-Putt Golf Tourney
BURTON — Resource Genesee’s 10th Annual Polar Bear Open will be held on Friday, March 14, 5:00-7:30pm at Holy Redeemer Family Center, 1227 E. Bristol Rd., Burton. Cost is $25 per person or $100 for a team of four.
Individuals are welcome will be added to a created team. The Polar Bear Open is an indoor putt-putt golf event played on an 18-hole course designed with an arctic theme.
Resource Genesee’s Polar Bear mascot also makes an appearance at the event. Individuals and teams can register by downloading the brochure at www.resourcegenesee.org or by contacting Lindsey Younger, (810)232-6253. Registration is also welcome at the door. This year the Polar Bear Open is expanding to include a family event on Saturday, March 15, 1-3 pm also at Holy Redeemer Family Center. Cost is $10 per person or $35 for a family of 4.
