Robotics Yard Sale Fundraiser needs items

FLINT TWP. — Donations are now being accepted for a Robotics Yard Sale Fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 30; Sunday, August 31 and Monday, September 1 at 5301 S. Dyewood Drive, Flint, between Court Street and Calkins off Dye Rd. All proceeds go to the Carman-Ainsworth High School robotics team, which earned a trip to the world championship meet in St. Louis this school year. Businesses invited to display at National Night Out

FLINT TWP. — Registrations are being accepted from local businesses interested in a display table at National Night Out (NNO) from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Flint Township Police Station, 5200 Norko Dr. Now in its 31st year, NNO is a unique community safety event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and the Flint Township Police Department. Hurley hosting annual Miracle Event

MUNDY TWP.— The Hurley Foundation’s 5th Annual Miracle Dinner Picnic will be held from 5-8 p.m. July 29, at the Holiday Inn Gateway Center. The annual fundraiser features carnival games, face painting, photo booth, music and more. Proceeds benefit Child Life Services at Hurley Children’s Hospital, the only service of its kind in the region comprised of Genesee, Lapeer and Shiawassee counties. Child Life Services at Hurley Children’s Hospital has been providing supportive care and education for pediatric patients for over 40 years, according to a press release. Tickets are $50 for adults; $10 for children ages 5 – 12 and free for children ages 4 and under. — R.S.
