Detroit Tigers ticket raffle

FLINT TWP. — Carman-Ainsworth Robotics team is offering a chance to win free Detroit Tigers tickets. The tickets will be given away in raffle drawing from with all proceeds to the robotics team. Logan’s sponsoring school supplies event

FLINT TWP. — Logan’s Roadhouse, 4404 Miller Road, will be hosting its ‘Fill the Bus’ event on Aug. 26 from 4-8 pm to collect donations of school supplies for the schools within the district. Diners will receive a 20-percent discounts on tabs in exchange for donations of school supplies. — R.S.

School reunions planned

FLINT TWP. — A Hoover School Reunion for all former students, teachers, and neighborhood residents will be held on Sunday, September 7, beginning at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Memorial Home Lounge, 4314 W. Dye High School’s annual thunderbolt reunion will be held Saturday, September 13 at the St. George Orthodox Banquet Hall, 5191 Lennon Rd., from 7-11:00 p.m., Cost is $15.00 per person at the door (checks can be payable to Dye Alumni Assoc.) Music will be provided for listening and dancing. — R.S.

Robotics Yard Sale Fundraiser needs items

FLINT TWP. — Donations are now being accepted for a Robotics Yard Sale Fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 30; Sunday, August 31 and Monday, Sept. 1 at 5301 S. Dyewood Drive, Flint, between Court Street and Calkins off Dye Rd. All proceeds go to the Carman-Ainsworth High School robotics team, which earned a trip to the world championship meet in St. Louis.

Smoke, carbon monoxide detectors available

FLINT TWP. — The Flint Township Fire Department has received a grant to distribute a limited supply of smoke detectors and Carbon Monoxide detectors. One of each is available to residents living in the designated Community Development Block Grant area. A picture ID is required to pick up the detectors.
