Hurley Center offers free seminar Oct. 20

FLINT — Hurley’s Center for Joint Replacement, within Hurley Medical Center, is offering a free seminar on Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Gateway Centre on Hill Road in Flint.

Hurley’s Center for Joint Replacement is the region’s expert leader in joint replacement surgeries. Today, there are new, advanced, less painful, even same day surgery options to keep patients moving.

Dr. Sidney Martin, Orthopedic Surgeon will discuss these options, which include same day knee replacements, breakthrough shoulder replacements and hip replacements. Dr. Martin will also answer questions.

Holly craft show coming

HOLLY — The 37th Annual “Holly Holiday” Art and Craft Show at Holly High School, 6161 E. Holly Rd., is Nov. 1 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Food available. $2 door admission. 9th Annual First Frost Arts & Fine Crafts Fair

FLINT — The Founders Society and the Flint Institute of Arts are presenting the ninth annual First Frost Arts & Fine Crafts Fair, the third weekend in October. This event is a unique two-day arts festival held inside the Flint Institute of Arts, 120 E. Kearsley St. The event will feature items on sale from approximately 50 hand-selected artists that will appeal to all holiday shoppers.

All artists’ booths will be conveniently located in the FIA’s C.S. Mott Gallery wing, and Isabel Hall.

Fair hours are Oct. 18 from 1O a.m.-6 p.m. and Oct. 19 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. General admission is $5, seniors 62 & above are $4 and children 12 and under are free of charge. The public is welcome.
