Shelter of Flint opens new medical clinic
FLINT – Shelter of Flint is pleased to announce the opening of an on-site medical clinic at its emergency shelter location at 924 Cedar Street. The clinic, which opened Oct. 14, is a partnership between Shelter of Flint and the Genesee Community Health Center, part of Genesee Health System. The Genesee Community Health Center (GCHC), specializes in meeting the needs of the homeless and provides care to anyone in need, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
Shelter of Flint clients face a variety of challenges, including lack of transportation and affordable child care. These challenges create barriers to accessing needed health care services. By offering comprehensive services at the shelter, GCHC is reducing barriers for Shelter of Flint clients in need of care.
