In brief

FANG membership pays off

FLINT TWP. — Continuing its membership in the Flint Area Narcotics Group (FANG) is already paying off for the Flint Township Police Department. Police Chief George Sippert reported to the board of trustees Monday night about a meth lab discovered operating at a township trailer park about two weeks ago. FANG is called in to handle those type incidents, Chief Sippert said, adding that the township has several meth lab busts each year. That could get quite expensive if the township was footing the bill, he said. The township recently approved paying its $40,972 annual dues to continue participation in the countywide narcotics agency.
