McLaren Breast Program approved by the NAPBC
FLINT — The McLaren Flint Breast Program, which encompasses McLaren Imaging Center and the McLaren Cancer Institute, has been granted a three-year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.
During the survey process, McLaren met all of the standards established by the NAPBC for treating women who are diagnosed with the full spectrum of breast disease. The standards include proficiency in the areas of: center leadership, clinical management (which includes radiology, pathology, surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists), research, community outreach, professional education, and quality improvement. Achieving NAPBC accreditation demonstrates McLaren’s firm commitment to offer its patients every significant advantage in their battle against breast disease.

KWA receives Bond Buyer Award
GENESEE COUNTY — On Dec. 5 The Bond Buyer reported the Karegnondi Water Authority’s bond sale earlier this year, for the ongoing construction of the water pipeline from Lake Huron to Genesee County, has been awarded the Midwest Region “Deal of the Year.”
The $220 million bond sale this spring garnered a 4.7 percent interest rate, helping to keep costs of the project down and save customers money over the life of the bond repayment.
“Many individuals worked long hours to make this bond sale as favorable as it was, and I would like to thank them immensely for their dedication to helping our community. They truly deserve the bulk of the accolades from this award,” said Drain Commissioner Jeff Wright.
