Circus Park, twp. partner for medical develpment
CLIO — Members of the Elf Khurafeh Shrine Center have implemented a planning process to develop the 104-acre plot with I-75 frontage into a regional medical village.
The Elf Khurafeh Shriners have partnered with Vienna Township to submit a grant application to the Federal Economic Development Administration. This application, if approved would allow Shriners to conduct planning, engineering and marketing studies on the acreage known as Circus Park in Clio.
The concept has been presented to various committees, the Vienna and Genesee Planning Commissions, The Flint and Genesee Economic Development office, as well as numerous medical and government advisory committees.
As a result, a community-wide support and action team has been created to enhance communications with the community at large with the various stages of the proposed medical, safety, recreation and retail facility known as Circus Park Medical Village.
In addition to setting a regional model for Shriners Hospitals nationally, those involved are confident the development will benefit the entire community.
The grant application is in its first stages and the group is confident they will have the support it need to create this compound bringing revenue and employment to the area.
Shriners commitment to the community extends to the creation of a Shriner Action Team (SAT) which will be the communication committee consisting of both Shriners and local officials. — G.G.
