Bridal Alliance enters fourth year of helping couples & businesses

GENESEE COUNTY — The Genesee County Bridal Alliance is entering its fourth year of assisting local professional wedding vendors build their businesses in addition to making it easier to find and contact professional wedding vendors for couples planning weddings.

With that goal in mind the Board of Directors of the GCBA began recruiting businesses in March of 2011 and now has a membership nearing 50 vendors and will be producing its fourth annual Wedding Marketplace at the Captain’s Club at Woodfield on Jan. 25, from 12-4 p.m.

The Wedding Marketplace is garnering much attention from vendors and sponsors alike due to the nature of cooperation between local wedding vendors and quality of vendors involved. Captain’s Club at Woodfield is located at 10200 Woodfield Drive, Grand Blanc. Admission is $5 at the door and $3 if you pre-register at www.gcbaweddings.com or by calling 810-836- 5201. This time around, proceeds from the Wedding Marketplace will benefit an organization called Wish Upon a Wedding – the world’s first nonprofit wish granting organization providing weddings and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-changing circumstances, regardless of sexual orientation.

The 2015 Wedding Marketplace will have a variety of vendors for engaged couples to meet and to gather information from, including Tasty Layers Custom Cakes, Special Occasions Linens, Captain’s Club at Woodfield, Centennial Image Photography, CC Events, Liquid Entertainment, Bella Birches, Bon Appetit Catering, Black Tie Productions, Vogt’s Flowers, Rusch Entertainment, DeLorme Photography, Creative Catering, Amerilodge Group, Floral Sense, President Tuxedo, Atlas Valley Country Club,

The Fountains Golf & Banquet Center, Glen Gables Wedding Chapel & Hall, Royal Linen Service and many more. Live models will be featuring the hottest trends in wedding dresses and hair and makeup from Beauty Enroute. This year’s Wedding Marketplace will offer two grand prizes including a $500 voucher to be used with any, or a combination of, GCBA vendors and “The Diamond Dash.” — G.G.

2015 Economic Forecast

FLINT TWP. — A 2015 Economic Forecast presented by two economists from the Detroit branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago will be held from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Baker College of Flint Center for Business Auditorium, 1050 W. BRistol road. Presenting are Paul Traub, senior business economist, and Martin Lavelle, business economist. The public is invited to this free event. — R.S.
