FANG commander to speak to WFBA

FLINT TWP. — Patrick Richard, detective first lieutenant and section commander of the Flint Area Narcotics Group (FANG) will be the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the West Flint Business Association, from noon to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, February 18 at Valley Family Restaurant, 5009 Miller Road at Linden. Richard will talk about how FANG functions, its involvement in Flint Township, current drug trends, uses and effects and its impact on individuals, communities and businesses. Flint Township Supervisor Karyn Miller will give a five-minute update on local news. The meeting is open to the public. — R.S.

Library hosting book sale

FLINT TWP. — Friends of McCarty Library, 2071 S. Graham Road, will hold a book sale on Friday, February 20 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and on Saturday, February 21 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Hardcover books will be priced 3 for $1 and paperbacks 5 for $1. — R.S.

Valentine’s dinner fundraising at The Jewel
