Property tax appeals hearings set for March

FLINT TWP. — The township has scheduled three Board of Review hearings in mid-March for property owners who want to appeal their tax assessment. Township Supervisor Karyn Miller said that no appointment is necessary and appeals will be heard on a first comefirst served basis at varying times March 9-11. Hearings will be on Monday, March 9 from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 -5:30 p.m., on Tuesday, March 10 from 1-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.; and on Wednesday, March 11 from 2-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. The complete schedule is posted online on the township’s March calendar. — R.S.

Tax bills due Monday

ZBA holding public hearing

FLINT TWP. — The Flint Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing at 5 p.m. on Wednesday March 4 to consider a request for a sign variance. The request is from Signs by Crannie, 4145 Marketplace, which is asking to be allowed to have signs that are above the side walls. Proposed is one reader board on each side of the structure. Each sign would be 100 square-feet with a ticker tape message. Robotics fundraiser tonight

FLINT TWP. — Big Mo, the Carman- Ainsworth High School robotics team will be hosting a fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 at BD’s Mongolian Grill, 4205 Miller Rd, All tips and proceeds collected will be put towards sending students to the State Championship to defend their Michigan FRC title. Senior center hosting Open House on March 23
