38th Annual Flint Camper and RV Show

FLINT — The Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds (MARVAC) is sponsoring the 38th Annual Flint Camper & RV Show, March 19-22, at the Perani Arena & Event Center, 3501 Lapeer Rd, Flint.

More than 85 new recreation vehicles will be displayed, including folding campers, motor homes, travel trailers and fifth wheel travel trailers, ranging in price from $5,000 to $120,000. Special discounts include folding campers from $7,000; trailers from $10,000; and motor homes from $46,000. Booths featuring parts and accessories, campground information, on site RV financing and RV rentals make this the complete RV show experience.

The 38th Annual MARVAC Flint Camper & RV Show will be open weekdays 2-9 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The cost for adult admission (ages 13 and up) is $7; senior admission (ages 55 and over) is $6; and children 12 and under get in free. Parking is free!

Kelly to celebrate retirement March 12

FLINT — Dr. Beverly Walker-Griffea, President of Mott Community College (MCC), will host a retirement celebration for Michael Kelly, Executive Director of Public Information at the College, on March 12. The event will be held in the Event Center adjacent to the Mott College Library on the main campus in Flint, from 3-6 p.m. The public is invited. Kelly joined MCC in December 1997 after serving as Senior Director of Education and Information for the Michigan Credit Union League. He previously served as Coordinator of the Home Learning Center for the Flint Community Schools and as a Producer/Host for WFBE Public Radio. MCC President Beverly Walker-Griffea said, “Michael has made a positive impact on this institution and community and I personally appreciate the warm reception that he has offered me during my tenure. His work in enhancing the community’s appreciation for the College and especially in the millage campaigns has been very important. I know that he will always be a Mott College supporter and I appreciate what that means for all of us.” — G.G.

Judge Barkey to speak

BURTON — The Flint Genealogical Society will meet March 3, 7 p.m., at The Burton Senior Center, 3410 S. Grand Traverse, Flint. Speaker will be Judge Jennie Barkey, on Probate Court, Adoption and the new Veterans Court. Free and open to the public. Details: Call 248-672- 2157. — G.G.
