Pipeline progress discussed at WFBA meeting

FLINT TWP. — Jeff Wright, Genesee County Drain Commissioner, will be the guest speaker at the West Flint Business Association meeting, from noon to 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18 at Valley Family Restaurant, 5009 Miller Road at Linden Road. Wright will talk about progress on the Karegnondi Water Authority (KWA) Pipeline, which is being built from Lake Huron to provide raw water to three counties along the I-69 corridor including Genesee. The luncheon meeting is free and open to the public. Reservations are not needed and purchasing lunch is optional. WFBA is a service organization. — R.S.

Mall Easter Bunny kicks off stuffed toy collection

FLINT TWP. — The Easter Bunny will take up residence at the Bunny House, located at Center Court in the Genesee Valley Center from 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 14 through April 4. New this year, Genesee Valley Center has partnered with CARS 108 and the CARS Critters program to collect stuffed animals for the Department of Human Services. The collection site will be at the Bunny House through April 4.

CARS Critters will kick off the “Bunny Blitz” stuffed animal drive from 10 a.m. to noon March 14 at Center Court. This free, family event will include a live radio remote, complimentary Auntie Anne’s pretzel nuggets for kids up to age 12, and a bunny craft, while supplies last. All donors of a stuffed animal will be entered to win an American Fun Center Arcade party package valued at more than $100. Professional photos with the Easter Bunny will be available from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m, Monday-Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays through April 4.
