See CAMS musical now

FLINT TWP. — Performances of Carman-Ainsworth Middle School Theater annual musical began March 25 and continue for two more nights, March 26-27. This year’s show, “Rock Around the Block’’ features singing, dancing and a famous Rock Star. Showtime is 7 p.m. each night. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for C-A students. Senior Citizens and children 4 and younger are free. — R.S.

Egg-cellent fun for the whole family

FLINT TWP. — Two area churches are inviting the community to join in the fun of an Easter celebration this weekend. Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W, Bristol Road, will host its free Easter Eggstravaganza for families with children up to fifth grade, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 28. Features include inflatables, candy, games and a “Search for Jesus” interactive journey. The event will be held at “The Peak.”

Wildwind Community Church, G-6020 Corunna Road, is hosting its Easter Extravaganza from 1-3 p.m. Sunday March 29. It will feature an Easter Egg Hunt, prizes, candy, the Easter Bunny and facepainting. Children must be accompanied by parents at all times. Proceeds from a concession will benefit a Teen Mission Trip. The event is open to the public. — R.S.

C-A Board earns honor

FLINT TWP. — Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools Board of Education members recently were recognized by the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) for their commitment to leadership and development. Vice President Patrice Hatcher achieved the Master Platinum Award; Trustee Laura Garrison achieved Level One Certification; and Secretary Joy Crane and Treasurer Ann Saunders received the Award of Distinction. — R.S.

Community Basic Needs Fair at Flint Public Library

GENESEE COUNTY — Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Flint Alumnae Chapter and the Flint Public Library are hosting its Sixth Annual Basic Needs Fair, Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is free and open to the public. Numerous agencies will be on hand to provide information and assistance. There will also be immunizations, blood pressure checks and a food distribution while supplies last. Participating agencies the Hamilton Community Health Network, Social Security Administration,Loving Hands Adult & Day Care Services, Walgreens, the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Healthplus of Michigan, the YWCA of Greater Flint, Wellness Services, Genesee Health Plan, Regional EMS, State Farm Insurance, YMCA Safe Places. Valley Area Agency on Aging, Carriage Town Ministries, Genesee County Health Department, Genesee County Free Clinic, McLaren-Flint Social Work Dept., and McLaren Home Care Group. — R.S.
