Magic Bus concert to benefit Genesee County’s needy children

GRAND BLANC — Whether you grew up in the 60s or wish you did, “Magic Bus” will transport you back to an era of art, love, and psychedelic music. Join us on April 18 at the Jewel of Grand Blanc for a stage-show concert, dinner, costume contest, and silent auction to benefit the Old Newsboys of Flint.

From costumes to keyboards, this multiple award winning six-piece southeastern Michigan group recreates all of the magic that is Woodstock era musical history, from Canned Heat to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

Since 1924, the Old Newsboys have put gifts under the tree for more than 793,000 children across Genesee County. Each box provides warm clothing, socks and underwear, gloves and a stocking cap, dental hygiene products, and a toy or game to a needy child. — G.G.

McLaren to host A Girl’s Night in Pampering

FLINT — The McLaren Flint Foundation is hosting A Girls Night In extravaganza of fun, food, fashion, and fundraising to support the Hospitality House at McLaren. The event will take place the evening of April 24 at the Hospitality House at McLaren on Beecher Road in Flint. Activities include: a fashion show by Macy’s and Chico’s, golf swing analysis by King Par, manicures, eyebrow waxing, facials, massage, makeovers, skin analysis, eyelash extensions, wine tasting, reflexology, Reiki, SmARTee Paints, truffle cake pops baking demonstration, Crossing Over Gallery, Zumba and Line Dancing-by Chasse’, door prize giveaways and more. Guests will receive complimentary hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and a goody bag. Additional activities to support the Hospitality House include a ‘Spin to Win’ prize wheel and a money/ prize grab booth. Event tickets are $50 per person with a limited number of overnight packages available for an additional charge. Registration is required for activities.

Annual Craft Show

DAVISON TWP. — The 25th Annual Davison High School Spring Arts and Crafts Show 1250 N. Oak, will be held April 11 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

More than 100 booths will fill the gymnasium for this annual event. A $2 admission charge at the door. The event is sponsored by the Davison Wrestling booster and Smetanka Craft shows.
