C-A Foundation benefit to help kids on Friday

FLINT TWP. — The 1st Annual Carman-Ainsworth Education Foundation “Community Auction for Kids” (a silent auction) will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m, Friday, April 17, at Ruggero’s. 5311 Corunna Road. C-A superintendent Steve Tunnicliff and former superintendent Bill Haley will emcee the evening. The silent auction is being held in honor of Peggy (Skaff) Anderson in recognition of her 21 years of service on the C-A board of education. Tickets are $25 each. The event includes a strolling dinner, cash bar and silent auction. Many individuals and business have generously donated products and services to be auctioned off including jewelry, a Brandon Carr item, sculpture, photo sessions, car washes, gift baskets, salon services and gift cards. All proceeds will go to the advancement of educational opportunities for Carman-Ainsworth Kids. Mom2mom Sale at Central Church of the Nazarene

FLINT TWP. — Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W. Bristol Rd., will be having a Mom2Mom sale on Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. General admission is $1, but $2 starting at 8:30 a.m. for early bird shoppers who want to enter early to get first pick at that best stuff. 4th Annual Kite Tails & Cocktails Fundraiser to Benefit Abused Kids

GENESEE COUNTY — The Weiss Child Advocacy Center is hosting its 4th Annual Kite Tails & Cocktails benefit fundraiser on Saturday, April 18 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at The Durant in downtown Flint. The event features cocktails, hors d’oeuvres by Chef Luis Fernandes, desserts from the Flint Crepe Company, live music and a silent auction. The event is a major fundraiser for the Weiss Child Advocacy Center. Each year the agency provides free services to more than 400 children through forensic interviews, specialized medical exams, Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and training and education. The event will also honor several local child advocates. Award categories include Multi-Disciplinary Team Member of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and the Guardian Angel award. Tickets for the event are $125 per person and may be purchased at any ELGA Credit Union location in Genesee County.
