Loeb Charitable Trust Supports Science Fair
FLINT — The Stella and Frederick Loeb Charitable Trust, as part of its mission to support communities, has given $3000 to help support the 59th Annual Flint Regional Science Fair.
“The Loeb Trust provides vital support for the Flint Regional Science Fair” said John Wambaugh, Fair Director and Chairman of the Flint Regional Science Fair Board. “We are delighted that we share this long-term commitment to area youth”.
The 2015 Fair is March 20-23 on the campus of Kettering University.
The Flint Regional Science Fair serves students in grades 4 through 12 from Genesee, Lapeer, Shiawassee, St Clair and Tuscola Counties, encouraging them to get engaged in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) inquiry. Through the science fair children develop skills that they will use throughout their lives. They learn that they have the ability to solve real life problems using scientific methods.

Free “Writing a Business Plan” class in Flint
FLINT — A free “Writing a Business Plan” class is being presented at Kettering University in Flint, April 30 from 1-4 p.m.
Presented by the Michigan Small Business Center (MI-SBDC) and hosted Kettering University; this class covers the specifics of business planning including market research, marketing, finance, legal, operations, and management. Tools, steps, and a workbook for creating a business plan draft are included.
For early stage or start-up businesses, the pre-requisite to this class is attending the “Starting a Business” class which puts you on a preparation path to be ready for “Writing a Business Plan”. Tractor Supply, 4-H team up
GENESEE COUNTY — Tractor Supply Company, in partnership with National 4-H Council, is proud to announce the launch of its 2015 Spring Paper Clover Campaign.
Tractor Supply Company and Del’s Feed and Farm Supply customers will have the opportunity to purchase paper clovers between April 22 – May 3 for $1 or more during checkout. All funds raised will be used to support 4-H youth development program activities in the communities where Tractor Supply and Del’s stores are located.
In just five years, across 49 states, the TSC 4-H Paper Clover Campaign has provided nearly $6.5 million to 4-H programs across the country. This past fall, the campaign raised $763,283 during the 10-day donation span. – G.G.
