McLaren Health Plan & Ascension Health reach agreement
GENESEE COUNTY — McLaren Health Plan (MHP) has announced the addition of 13 Ascension Health Hospitals to the MHP provider network. Effective Aug. 1, McLaren Health Plan’s Commercial, Medicaid, and Self-Funded members had in-network access to Ascension Hospitals across many Michigan communities. “McLaren Health Plan is thrilled to expand our provider network through our new partnership with Ascension Health,” said Kathy Kendal, president and CEO, McLaren Health Plan. “Our membership and presence throughout Michigan continues to grow and we see our partnership with Ascension as a vital part of providing our members with greater options of quality care throughout the state.” The McLaren Health Plan and Ascension Health Systems agreement includes contracts with St. Mary’s of Michigan Hospital Network, St. John Providence Health System, and the Borgess Health Network. With the addition of these 13 Ascension Hospitals, McLaren Health Plan’s provider network has grown by over 30 percent in the last six months. Ascension Health is transforming healthcare by providing the highest quality care to all, with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. Gas prices on the rise
GENESEE COUNTY — Average retail gasoline prices in Michigan have risen 7.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.76 a gallon. This compares with the national average that has risen 2.8 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.61 a gallion, according to gasoline price website www.MichiganGasPrices.com. Including the change in gas prices in Michigan during the past week, prices yesterday were $1.07 per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 4.7 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 9.1 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 91.6 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago. — G.G.
