Genesys hosts 23rd Charity Classic fundraising event

GRAND BLANC — The annual fundraising event, hosted by the Genesys Health Foundation, includes a golf outing and the Classic Party, both at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc.

The golf outing will take place July 13. Golfers will play on the legendary links of Warwick Hills, one of southeast Michigan’s premier golf courses. Cost is $750 a golfer and includes 18 holes of golf, two tickets to the Charity Classic Party, continental breakfast, lunch, and a gift package.

The Classic Party, considered the party of the summer, includes cocktails, the finest culinary specialties of Warwick Hills, golf challenges, live musical entertainment and dancing, and a silent auction. Guests can bid on sports memorabilia, sporting event tickets, golf equipment, jewelry, specialty items and much more. Cost of the Classic Party is $125 a person.

Proceeds from the Genesys Charity Classic go to fund robotic surgery technology at Genesys, a three-year, $300,000 campaign. — G.G.

Fenton Artwalk celebrates arts, culture for 5th Year

FENTON — Mark your calendar to attend the 5th Annual Fenton ArtWalk on July 11, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. in Downtown Fenton. The Fenton ArtWalk will be held back to back with the 14th annual Bastille Day Race hosted by The Laundry from 7:45-10 a.m. The Lakes Area Visual Artists return to show artwork and host Family Activities by the River at the Fenton Community and Cultural Center (FCCC) on Leroy, and have also coordinated fun art competitions and a spectacular opening reception July 10 from 7-9 p.m. at FCCC to kick off and enhance Fenton ArtWalk. Enjoy Music by Triplicity Piano Trio, and light refreshments while strolling the exhibit and meeting the artists the night before the big day.

Stop by the Info booth in front of Fenton City Hall and take a map to find your way through Downtown Fenton and experience to the fullest.
