BURTON — A Health Fair and Ice Cream Sundae Funday will take place Aug. 7 from 1-4 p.m. at Lockwood of Burton, 2173 S. Center Rd. Join the staff at Lockwood and various professionals in attendance to have your questions answers on a wide range of health and medical issues.

The Oaks at Woodfield adopts FISH of Grand Blanc

GRAND BLANC — The Oaks at Woodfield donated food and money to FISH of Grand Blanc as part of its “Independence from Hunger” Food Drive held in the month of July. All The Oaks at Woodfield employees were encouraged to donate food in addition to cash or personal time, which were converted into pounds, to this worthy cause.

Dort Federal holds ticket giveaway

GENESEE COUNTY — It’s show time, Dort Federal Credit Union members! Get ready to see what is on the big screen for free from noon to 8:30 p.m., Aug. 10 as Dort Federal Credit Union presents the 11th Anniversary Member Appreciation Movie Day.

“We love it,” said Marissa Pierce, marketing specialist at Dort Federal Credit Union. “It’s really one of the highlights of the year.”

Members are invited to grab their friends and family and/or fellow members and head to either NCG Trillium Cinema in Grand Blanc, NCG Lapeer Cinema in Lapeer or NCG Courtland Cinema in Burton. Once there, guests are greeted by Dort Federal Credit Union employees, who they will show their Dort Federal ATM Card, Dort Federal Visa Platinum Credit Card, Dort One card or Dort Federal Membership Card to at the Dort Federal table in the lobby of the theater they choose.

Pierce said members aren’t the only ones who get excited for the day. Employees jump at the chance to work in one of the theater lobbies to greet guests.

“Our staff, they love being able to interact with our members,” added Pierce. “It really is a fun activity.”

Each member will get a maximum of four tickets to one movie. Members and their guests must be present on the day the tickets are given out and the tickets must be used on Aug. 10.
