NASH FM to hold radiothon

FLINT – The Annual NASH FM 95.1 “Cure Kids Cancer” Radiothon, is today and tomorrow (Sept. 24-25) to benefit the Pediatric Oncology program at Hurley Children’s Hospital. During the two-day radiothon, mid-Michigan families will share experiences of hope and healing while their children battle cancer. NASH FM 95.1 on-air talent hosting the radiothon include April Rose and Tim Shickles.

It takes place at Hurley Children’s Hospital West Lobby, One Hurley Plaza, Flint. All of the funds raised will go directly to Hurley’s pediatric Oncology program that benefits children living within the hospital’s 15-county service area. Listeners will be able to phone in their pledges to the volunteer-staffed phone bank.

“Nearly 90 percent of all children being treated for cancer are at their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, ” said Linda Tracy- Stephens, Director of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Hurley Children’s Hospital. “Many of our radiothon guests heard the broadcast last year, never dreaming that this time they would be the family who is being helped by Hurley and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.”

Every year Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals treat 17 million children. Hurley is the only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in Genesee County, and one of only four such medical centers in the state of Michigan.

“Marketing Your Business” Workshop in Flint

FLINT — A free “Marketing Your Business” workshop is being offered by The Michigan Small Business Development Center (MI-SBDC) at the Kettering University Campus Center on Sept. 29 from 1-4 pm.

This workshop presents practical applications of marketing concepts designed to grow small businesses. It covers basic marketing tools including market analysis and research, target marketing, assessing competitors, and key marketing implementation tools. For pre-start or early stage startup businesses, pre-requisites to this class include two seminars, “Starting a Business” and/or “Writing a Business Plan”.
