Flint Arrowhead Barbershop Chorus to hold rehearsals

Gamble on a difference at Casino Night
FLINT— The Old Newsboys will host a Casino Night on Oct. 3, at the Birch Run Expo Center. The fun starts at 6 p.m.
Your $100 ticket includes $200 in “Funny Money” for your gambling entertainment, a dinner buffet, and enters you in a drawing for cash prizes totaling $9,000– with a Grand Prize of $5,000. Use your Funny Money to play poker, black jack, roulette, or spin the Funny Money wheel. Additional Funny Money will be available to purchase. Kidney cancer support group to meet Oct. 21
FLINT — The Kidney Cancer Educational Support Group will meet Wednesday, Oct. 21, 12:30-2:30 p.m. Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute, 302 Kensington Ave., Flint (off Robert T. Bell ringers needed
FLINT — The Salvation Army of Genesee County will host two job fairs in October to recruit bell ringers for the upcoming 2015 Red Kettle Campaign.
The job fairs will be held today, Oct. 1, at 9 a.m.–12 p.m. at the Citadel Corps located at 211 W. Kearsley St. in downtown Flint, and on Oct. 14, at 9 a.m.–12 p.m. at the Beecher Corps located at 1475 W. Coldwater Rd.The jobs will pay $8.15 an hour.
To apply for a bell ringer position, applicants are required to attend one of the October job fairs. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and will be required to present a valid driver’s license or state ID, Social Security card and a schedule of availability.
The Salvation Army Red Kettle bell ringing season kicks off Nov. 6 and continues through Dec. 24. Workers ring bells every day except Sundays and on Thanksgiving Day.
