Holiday Craft Sale

FLINT TWP. — Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 5151 Lennon Rd. (behind Kohl’s) will host a Holiday Craft Sale, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, October 23 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 24. Admission is free. Senior pig roast sold out

FLINT TWP. — The 4th annual Senior Citizen Pig Roast will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 24 at the Flint Township Senior Citizens Center, 2071 S. Graham Road. Only 100 tickets were sold at $10 each. The price included one raffle ticket for a Chinese Auction of numerous donated items. Organizers said the event is sold out. — R.S.

YouthQuest hosting eight community events

FLINT TWP. — About 80 students from Randels Elementary, 6022 Brobeck Street; and 100 students from Dye Elementary, 1174 S. Graham Road, will take part in a YouthQuest “Lights On Afterschool” rally, part of a nationwide effort to highlight the importance of providing afterschool programming for today’s youth. Rallies at Dye and Randels will take place tonight, Thursday, October 22; from 5:30-7 p.m. YouthQuest is also holding rallies at six other sites in Flint Schools. Students, families and community members will take part in various activities, ranging from pony rides and magic shows at Southwestern Classical Academy to a “Fox in Socks”-themed evening at Holmes STEM Academy.
