Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

FLINT — Financial Plus Credit Union recently announced that they raised a gross of $77,739 from their 2015 Pink Night fundraising efforts. A net total of $69,300, will be donated to American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. The 9th annual “Pink Night” event was held Thursday, Oct. 1, in downtown Flint at Blackstone’s Pub & Grill, 531 S. Saginaw St., Flint, MI.

This upscale fundraiser sold out its 400 tickets for the third constitutive year in a row. Attendees were entertained by a performance from Chassé Ballroom and Latin Dance Studio, music by DJ Brian Collard, buffet catered by Blackstone’s Pub & Grill, a tasteful brassiere fashion show and a live and silent auction. The 2015 Golden Bra award went to Sapphire Blue Investment Partners for their peacock inspired brassiere design.

“We are ecstatic about the money raised this year. Funds raised from Pink Night will go to local and national breast cancer research to better understand, prevent, find and treat the disease and provide information and support to those touched by breast cancer.” said Olga Long, Senior Vice President of Financial Plus Credit Union. Chassé Ballroom and Latin Dance Studio was the Pink Night Title Sponsor for the third consecutive year.
