Santa Claus is coming to town at Genesee Valley

FLINT TWP. — Santa Claus will arrive at Genesee Valley Center mall at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, November 6. Flint Township firefighters will escort Santa and his reindeer to the Outdoor Village. Santa will join his Woodland Friends in Center Court for photos through December 24. He will be available for visits from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. through December 23. Photos will be available on Christmas Eve from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each child that visits Santa will receive a special gift, no purchase necessary. Details: www.geneseemall.com R.S.

Twp. board schedules meeting/budget workshop

FLINT TWP. — A budget amendment for 2015 is on the agenda of a special meeting of the township board to be held at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10. Following the new business discussion, the board will hold a Budget Workshop to review 2016-17 budget projections. — R.S.

Blood drive at Genesee Valley Center

FLINT TWP. – Michigan Blood is hosting a blood drive at Genesee Valley Center, from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, November 13 in the Outdoor Village near Barnes & Noble bookstore. Every donor will receive a $3 Cherry Hill Photo coupon for select Santa photo gift packages and will also be entered to win a photo package valued at $48. Any healthy person 17 or older (or 16 with parental consent) who weighs at least 110 pounds may be eligible to donate. Please bring photo ID. Walk-ins are welcome. Celiac Support Group Meeting on Nov. 15

FLINT TWP. — Dr. Rabbi Salimi, gastro-enterologist, will be the guest speaker at a meeting of the Mid-Michigan Celiac Support Group, 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15 at McLaren Hospitality House, G-3170 Beecher Rd. The public is welcome to attend the free meeting to ask medical questions and hear the latest information. Samples from gluten-free companies will also be distributed.
