Hurley Foundation inside report awarded first place in competition

FLINT — The Hurley Foundation and Hurley Medical Center’s Marketing Department were awarded a Platinum Award (1st place) from MarCom for the Hurley Foundation’s Inside Report, an annual publication featuring inspirational miracle stories and the vast amount of exceptional state of the art services we provide, around the clock.

The Hurley Foundation helped make the Inside Report a true winner, according to Hurley officials. There were more than 6,500 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and 15 other countries in this International Competition for Marketing and Communication Professionals.

MarCom 2015 international awards competition recognizes outstanding creative achievement. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. The competition has grown to one of the largest of its kind in the world. A look at the winners shows a range in size from individual communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies. Old Newsboys Christmas sign-up is underway

FLINT — Enrollment in the Old Newsboys of Flint’s Christmas Program opens Nov. 2 and runs through Dec. 23. Applicants may sign-up at the Old Newsboys office at 6255 Taylor Drive in Flint. Sign-up hours are from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. (Closed from 12-1 p.m. daily). Sign-up will also be open Nov. 21 and Dec. 5, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

The Salvation Army Flint Citadel Band’s 83rd Annual Thanksgiving Concert

FLINT — The Salvation Army’s Flint Citadel Band will present its 83rd annual Thanksgiving concert on Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. at The Salvation Army Flint Citadel, 211 West Kearsley St. There is no charge for this public event. A freewill offering will be accepted. The Flint Citadel Band’s repertoire will include ‘The Day of the Lord’ by Steven Ponsford and, as a special treat, Dr. Harold Burgmayer, the newly appointed TSA Territorial Music Secretary for the Central Territory, will be guest conducting.
