Tickets selling for annual school parent dances

FLINT TWP. — Dye/Randels and Rankin/ Dillon elementary schools are getting ready for their annual Daddy/Daughter & Mother/ Son dances. Dye/Randels will host its 9th annual dance on Friday, Feb. 5 from 6-8 pm. The Rankin/Dillon Elementary dance is on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 6-8 pm. Tickets are $20 per couple and $3 for each additional child. Dancing, photos and refreshments will be provided. Both events are to benefit the Mo Peeps robotics program. Euchre tourney coming up

FLINT TWP. — St. George Orthodox Church, 5191 Lennon Road is hosting a Euchre Tournament fundraiser on Friday, February 12. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. and play at 7 p.m. Food will be sold and cash prizes offered. Admission is $5 per person. For more information, call 810- 732-0720. — R.S.

Donations sought for CA Spirit Cup drive

FLINT TWP. — Carman-Ainsworth is participating in the 2015-2016 ABC 12 Spirit Cup competition. The cup is awarded to the school in the ABC 12 viewing area that raises the most food for the Eastern Michigan Food Bank. Marc Jacobson and the ABC 12 Spirit Cup will visit the C-A high school gym from 5-7 a.m. Friday, February 5 for a Spirit rally. Meantime, donations of food and non-perishable items can be dropped off at the high school office. Monetary donations can also be dropped off there or mailed to Carman- Ainsworth High School, 1300 N. Linden Road, Flint MI 48532 ATTN: Spirit Cup. Checks should be made payable to: Food Bank of Eastern MI. Donations will be accepted through April. — R.S.

B-Dubs hosting Dye fundraiser

FLINT TWP. — The Dye Elementary Parent Club will be having a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings, 3192 S. Linden Road, on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 5- 9 pm. For every diner at that time who presents a Dye fundraising ticket or flyer, Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 15 percent of all pre-taxed food sales (less alcohol and promotional discounts). — R.S.

Gospel favorites in concert at local church

FLINT TWP. — Ernie Haas & The Signature Sound, a world-renowned gospel group, has teamed up with The Booth Brothers, a gospel trio, for the Brotherhood Tour, with an upcoming concert at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W.
