“Let’s Talk” Town Hall

DAVISON TWP. — The second in a series of meetings in Genesee County to engage elected officials and residents together, in a discussion of the issues facing the community in the year ahead.This will be Feb. 27 from 2-4 p.m. At the Davison Senior Center, 10135 Lapeer Rd.

The public is invited to share its thoughts and concerns with elected officials as they explain their actions being taken in their respective areas.

Attending the meeting will be U.S. Congressman Dan Kildee, State Sen. Jim Ananich, State Rep. Pam Faris and State Rep. Charles Smiley.

State, county and local elected officials are invited to attend.

Free Fishing Weekend offers opportunity for fun

GENESEE COUNTY — Free Fishing Weekend will take place across Michigan on Feb. 13-14. Rep. State Rep. Joseph Graves encourages people to go out and have some fun on a local lake or pond during the event.

Rep. Graves said safety is also a key thing to remember during any trip. Ice conditions vary on different bodies of water, and anglers should take all precautions while venturing out on the ice.

Free Fishing Weekend takes place annually in February and June, a weekend during which the Michigan Department of Natural Resources promotes awareness of the state’s aquatic resources. Fishing regulations do still apply during the weekend.

Euchre tourney coming up at St. George church
