Flint Township board candidates at WFBA

FLINT TWP. — A Flint Township Candidate Forum will be hosted by the West Flint Business Association, at its monthly meeting, noon to 1:15 p.m., April 21 at the Valley Family Restaurant, 5009 Miller Rd. Candidates for supervisor, clerk, treasurer and trustee are expected to attend the meeting and briefly comment on why they are running for office. Non-members are welcome to attend. — R.S.

Time for spring cleaning (and shredding)

FLINT TWP. — Gather up your old receipts, bills and other confidential documents that have personal identification that needs to be shredded before being discarded. A free Township Shredding Day is scheduled for May 7, from 10 a.m.-noon in the parking lot at the Administration Building, 1490 S. Dye Road. Residents are allowed to bring in two boxes of documents per vehicle. Township Clerk Kim Courts arranges for the professional shredding truck to come in twice a year — once in the spring and again in the fall. — R.S.

MDOT to answer questions about Bristol Rd. roundabout

FLINT TWP. — Representatives from the Michigan Department of Transportation will attend the April 18 township board meeting to discuss plans for the roundabout to be built on Bristol Road near the I-75 exchange, said Township Supervisor Karyn Miller. Now would be the time for anyone with questions to come and get them answered, she said. Construction is expected to begin mid-summer. — R.S.
