Casino plans discussed
FLINT TWP.— Jeff Parker, executive director of the Bay Mills Indian Community, will be the guest speaker Wednesday at the West Flint Business Association monthly meeting. He will talk about the planned development and answer questions. Book Mouse’s Halloween Bash
FLINT TWP.— A free magic show by nationally acclaimed magician, Jason Hudy, on Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. will kick-off Book Mouse’s Halloween Bash, sponsored by the Genesee District Library. Following the magic show, kids can join the costume parade for trickor treating throughout the mall. Festivities start in Center Court and are appropriate for kids 12 and under. I-475 ramp closure could affect westbound travelers
GENESEE COUNTY — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is scheduled to close the ramps from northbound and southbound I-475 to westbound I-69 beginning Thursday, Oct. 13. The ramps will remain closed for approximately 10 days, through late October. Motorists traveling in both directions on I-475 to westbound I-69 must take the ramp to eastbound I- 69, where they will exit at Dort Hwy. (M-54), then travel north on Dort Hwy, to resume travel on westbound I-69 via the on-ramp. — R.S.

FLINT TWP — The township will host its third annual Shred Day, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 22 in the parking lot of the administration building, 1490 Dye Road, courtesy of Shred Experts LLC. Mom2Mom Sale coming

Shriner Mini-Clinic slated for Oct. 15
BURTON — Michigan Shriners will once again host a Free Mini Clinic noon to 3 p.m. on Oct. 15. The health screenings, held at Burton City Hall, will provide referrals for children in order to receive surgery or medical treatment at no cost at a Shriners Hospital for Children. Parents must bring copies of birth certificates, immunization records, Social Security cards and custody or adoption papers. Burton City Hall is located at 4303 S. Center Road.
