Flushing School bond vote coming Tuesday

FLINT TWP. — Those township residents who live in the Flushing School District are headed to the polls on Tuesday, May 3 to vote for a $20 million School Improvement Bond Proposal. The bond would cover the costs of erecting, equipping and furnishing additions to the high school which will include a community education center, athletic fieldhouse and art room; remodeling, equipping, other school buildings, athletic fields and facility to enhance safety and security; acquiring and installing technology equipment and more. An estimated levy for the bond in its first year will be 1.4 0 mills ($1.40 per $1,000 taxable value) and 2.27 mills (or $2.27 per $1,000 taxable value) over the remaining years to retire the bond. If approved by voters, the bonds will be guaranteed by the State under the School Bond Qualification and Loan Program. Genesys offers 12-week fitness, nutrition program

Genesys Athletic Club now offers FUSE 90, a 12-week personalized fitness and nutrition program designed to promote healthy lifestyle changes at a pace that works for every individual.

A full team of experts will work closely with participants every step of the way. The FUSE 90 team is comprised of a certified health coach, health and wellness educators, certified personal trainers and certified group fitness instructors. These individuals will provide support, education and instruction, helping you set realistic achievable goals and supporting you on the road to a successful outcome.

FUSE 90 participants will receive six small group health coaching sessions, six health and nutrition lectures, three week group fitness classes, and 12 on-hour small group personal training sessions. Kidney cancer support offers cancer film program

FLINT — The Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute, Flint, next to MCC Tech Building off of Robert. T. Longway Blvd, and the Kidney Cancer Support Group of Michigan will present a Cancer Film Program, May 18, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at First film, from “The Emperor of All Maladies” – Magic Bullets followed by “Metastatic RCC (Kidney Cancer).
