Church bake sale coming up at St. George Orthodox

Time for spring cleaning (and shredding)

FLINT TWP. — Last chance: Gather up your old receipts, bills and other confidential documents that have personal identification that needs to be shredded before being discarded. A free Township Shredding Day is scheduled for Saturday May 7, from 10 a.m.-noon in the parking lot at the Administration Building, 1490 S. Dye Road. Residents are allowed to bring in two boxes of documents per vehicle. Township Clerk Kim Courts arranges for the professional shredding truck to come in twice a year – once in the spring and again in the fall. — R.S.

Hazardous waste disposal

FLINT TWP. – Just in time for serious spring cleaning, the semiannual Household Hazardous Waste & Electronic Waste Recycle Day is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21. Two drop-off sites will be available: Grand Blanc High School west campus, 1 Jewell Trail in Grand Blanc and the Flint East-Water Service Center, 3310 East Court Street. Township Economic Development group to meet

FLINT TWP. – The annual meeting of the Flint Township Economic Development Corporation will be held at 5 p.m., May 18 at the township offices, 1490 South Dye Road. The board will elect officers and discuss economic developments during the past year. – R.S.
