FLINT TWP. — Information about Ray and Ryan Macko was mistakenly deleted during editing from an article in the May 26 issue about Carman-Ainsworth students who participated in summer programs such as Accelerated Graduation Opportunity (AGO) and Dual Enrollment Educational Partnership (DEEP), where they earned early college credits. The missing paragraph said:

Audit presented Monday

FLINT TWP. — Township Supervisor Karyn Miller announced that anyone interested in learning all about the township’s financial status should attend the Monday, June 6township board meeting when accountants from Plante Moran are scheduled to present the township’s annual audit. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and is held at the township offices, 1490 S. Dye Road. — R.S.

Police hiring

FLINT TWP. — The township police department has posted notices that it is currently seeking to hire several new officers. An application packet for entry level police officer is posted on the township web site at It provides details about qualifications required, working conditions, benefits and pay and where to file the application. The deadline for submitting an application Wednesday, June 15, 2016, 5:30pm. The department anticipates filling seven open full-time patrol officer positions this year. Annual Transportation Day coming soon

FLINT TWP. — A hot air balloon will be among the modes of travel coming to The Carman-Ainsworth Learning Community for its annual “Transportation Day’ from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, June 3. A fire truck, ambulance, police cars and more will also be on hand. A Resource Fair will include free health and legal advice, employment assistance and family activities. The school is located at 1181 W Scottwood Avenue but ample parking will be provided by the Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W. Bristol Road.
